Chris Bonnello
Chris Bonnello is an autistic advocate, speaker and author based in the British East Midlands. Formerly a teacher in both mainstream and special education, he now runs the online platform Autistic Not Weird and delivers keynotes about neurodivergence nationally and internationally.
Bonnello’s first novel series, Underdogs, is a dystopian saga where heroes from a special school become Britain’s last line of defence in a near-future war. The series’ second book was joint runner-up in The Guardian’s Not The Booker Prize. Bonnello has also published autism-related nonfiction and is a HarperCollins children’s author through their Big Cat imprint. His children’s book, Alfie Smith the Speedcuber, draws from his own experiences in the Rubik’s cube speed-solving community, where he regularly competes and is particularly keen on blindfold solving (having successfully solved ten cubes blindfolded at once).
